Air-Shields infant Ambu

The Ambu resuscitator Air-Shields infant, is a bag that is inflated by itself, which has a neoprene outer shell and a natural rubber inner tube.
You can manage up to 250 ml. For each compression, the maximum capacity is 400 ml bag. You can manual cycle up to 120 times per minute.
There is an adjustable pressure limit of 15 to 25 cm H2O, or up to 50 cm H2O; limitation may be exceeded if ventilation is insufficient for a lung altered simply by continuous compression of the bag. The face mask is made of polycarbonate, with a rubber balloon filled with air. The rescuer administers low to moderate concentrations of oxygen, unless they add a reservoir.

Resuscitator Ambu
AIR-SHIELDS ReAnima AMBU

It is a type resuscitator Ambu, when connected to an oxygen source, given low to medium concentrations of oxygen. If you want high you must add a reservoir bag. Of course this makes it more cumbersome to use.

Can be used in pediatric patients, infants or adults. Previously brought a neoprene outer shell and a non-rebreathing valve metal, was discontinued in 1971. This unit had coated the inside with foam. The new Mark II version has a natural rubber inner lining that makes cleaning and eliminates the problems inherent in the foam. The oxygen concentration is obtained without reservoir is about 60% with 15 liters of oxygen.

Resuscitation Bags

INTRODUCTION
Resuscitation Bags

Resuscitation bags play a vital role in cardiac procedures and assisted ventilation when the patient is less critical state, which aims to provide air volume with optional oxygen enrichment to the patient’s lungs. Resuscitation bags bags are known as self-inflating anesthesia bag or “Ambu” although this is the name of a specific brand.

The manual resuscitator (Ambu bag) is one of the most common devices used to ventilate and oxygenate patients in medical practice. Although most health providers have a general idea on how these devices function, few of them know the exact mechanics of it.

This work aimed to explain the mechanisms of a type of manual resuscitators used in our hospital, and to demonstrate why it is this device was superior to the breathing bag and ventilator machine anesthesia on the status of sub-atmospheric pressure and the great escape in the circuit. On the other hand, make anesthesia providers aware of the serious complications of the endotracheal nasogastric tube placement.
